Setting up the Playing Fields

U6’s and U7’s field set up

  • We use the yellow goals posts located in the gear room for the U6’s and U7’s matches.
  • U6’s and U7’s match duration is 2 x 15 minute halves (5-minute half time break).
  • U6’s & U7’s field goal positions and corner post positions are marked with pink fluorescent paint marks. Corner post positions are marked with an “X” mark and Goal positions are marked with an “O”. Redbacks field can run eight U6’s or U7’s field games simultaneously. Field size is 20-meters in width x 30-meters in length.
  • Goals posts are to be anchored to the ground by one of two U shaped pegs in the back edge of the goals post to stop them falling over. (Pegs are in a bucket in the gears room).

U8’s and U9’s field set up

  • We use the 3-meter x 2-meter aluminium goals posts located along the southern mesh fence for the U8’s and U9’s matches.
    U8’s and U9’s match duration is 2 x 20-minute halves (5-minute half time break).
  • U8’s & U9’s field utilise 2 of the U6 fields. The 4 extreme corner posts of the 2 fields stay in place as your corner posts. The 2 remaining inner corner posts will provide a guide for your half way line. Split the distance by half and insert a post. Remove the remaining post. This will be you half way line. So we should now have 4 corner posts and 2 half way posts. Redbacks field can run four U8’s or U9’s field games simultaneously. Field size is 35-meter in width x 45-meter in length.
  • Goals posts are to be anchored to the round by four to six U shaped pegs in the back edge of the goals post to stop them falling over. (Pegs are in a bucket in the gears room).

U10’s & U11’s Playing Fields

  • We use the 5-meter x 2-meter aluminium goals posts which are located behind the old clubhouse or canteen for the Ul0’s and U11’s matches.
    U10’s and U11’s match duration is 2 x 25-minute halves (5-minute half time break).
  • U10’s & U11’s field utilise 2 of the U8 fields. The 4 extreme corner posts of the 2 fields stay in place as your corner posts. Pick the half way point of the goal mouth and insert a pole and put another pole on the opposite side off the field to mark your halfway line. Use the remaining posts to form the sideline approximately 10 feet front the full field halfway line. There will be a gap between the 2 fields formed for parents and spectators to watch the game. So we should now have 4 corner posts and 2 half way posts and a sideline formed from the posts. Redbacks field can run two U10’s or U11’s field games simultaneously. Field size is approximately 40-meter in width x 70-meter in length.
  • Goals posts are to be anchored to the ground by four to six U shaped pegs in the back edge of the goals post to stop them falling over. (Pegs are in a bucket in the gears room).
